Position Details:
As a Medical Assistant Instructor, your primary responsibility is to develop and deliver educational programs that train students in the skills and knowledge necessary to become competent medical assistants. You will provide instruction on clinical and administrative duties, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, patient care procedures, and professional communication in healthcare settings.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development:
- Design and update curriculum content for medical assistant training programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and accreditation requirements.
- Develop lesson plans, presentations, and instructional materials to facilitate effective learning.
- Conduct lectures, demonstrations, and interactive sessions to teach students about medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, and pharmacology.
- Use multimedia tools and visual aids to enhance learning experiences.
- Provide hands-on training in clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, performing EKGs, administering injections, assisting with minor surgeries, and conducting laboratory tests.
- Supervise and guide students as they practice clinical skills in simulated and real healthcare environments.
- Administer quizzes, exams, and practical assessments to evaluate students' comprehension and proficiency in clinical and administrative skills.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their performance.
- Stay updated on current trends, practices, and regulations in the field of medical assisting.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and continuing education programs to enhance teaching effectiveness and maintain proficiency in medical assisting competencies.
- Provide hands-on training in clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, performing EKGs, administering injections, assisting with minor surgeries, and conducting laboratory tests.
- Supervise and guide students as they practice clinical skills in simulated and real healthcare environments.
- Instruct students in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, billing and coding, and insurance processing.
- Familiarize students with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical office software.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential or equivalent certification required.
- Teaching or training experience in healthcare education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in clinical and administrative procedures relevant to medical assisting.
Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:
- Pay is $30 per hour
